I have never done Pilates or Yoga before … where should I start?
Both
Pilates and Yoga are going to strengthen your total body, increase
flexibility, improve your posture and promote balance and are
usually both incorporated in our clients schedules.
Yoga is trained on the floor and offers
more of a de-stress quality and relaxation component.

Why Pilates equipment vs. Pilates mat work only?
While Mat classes are the typical entry into Pilates for many participants, Mat exercises are often difficult for a beginner because they do not have the core strength to perform the exercises correctly and to the maximum benefit. The Classical Pilates Method is based on a full, integrated system of equipment—the Mat exercises are just part of the technique (only 25% of the Pilates exercise repertoire can even be performed on a Mat). The equipment works better and faster to change the body, as the springs on the equipment provide support and resistance that allow an individual to find and enhance their core connection in a way this is difficult to do on the Mat alone. In short, the equipment works better and faster to change the body while offering more varieties of exercises to keep your workout FUN.
What should I wear to a session?
Both Pilates and yoga are done barefoot so no footwear is needed. Please wear leggings or shorts and an easy to move in shirt.
Please try and arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the session start
time.
